The San Martino is an easy, nature-focused circular trail near the Eggerhöfe farms. Experience multisensory stations and peaceful resting spots that invite you to pause and meditate. The starting point is the public car park at Gasthaus Eggerhof. The 4 km-long San Martino trail is well signposted (starting on trail no. 9, then continuing on trail no. 27), leading gently uphill to a viewpoint before passing Gasthaus Eggerhof and returning to the car park.

Medium: Marlengo Mountain and Monte San Vigilio
A circular hike on Marlengo Mountain, reaching the local peak, Monte San Vigilio. The starting point is the Gasthaus Eggerhof car park. From there, follow trail no. 31 (Eggersteig) past Almboden to the Monte San Vigilio cable car mountain station, then continue on trail no. 34 to San Vigilio’s chapel. From here, take trail no. 9, passing the "Schwarze Lacke" biotope and Gasthaus Seespitz, before descending back to the starting point.

A challenging ascent along the Ochsentod Trail to Monte San Vigilio. Starting from Marlengo village square, take trail no. 33 up to the Gasthaus Waalheim on the Marlengo Waalweg trail. Follow the Waalweg in the direction of Lana and then hike past Castel Lebenberg via trail no. 33 B up to the Hoferhof station. Here is where the Ochsentod Trail begins. It crosses two forest roads before merging into Eggersteig, marked as trail no. 31. The route continues along Eggersteig to Gasthaus Eggerhof, from where the descent to Marlengo follows first trail no. 9, then trail no. 35.

Easy: Maiser Waalweg
The Maiser Waalweg is an easy hike that winds gently through mixed forests and orchards, making it ideal even on warm summer days thanks to its many shaded sections. The route begins in the village centre of Scena. Passing the Blumenherz, it first branches off onto Katnauweg and Leiterweg, leading past Innerleiterhof to the Maiser Waalweg. Heading north, the path remains almost flat as it meanders through shaded woodland, crossing Schnuggenbach before reaching Petaunerhof and continuing towards Riffianerweg. This eventually leads back to Scena.

Easy: Graf Volkmar fitness trail
This fitness trail is a 2.5 km walking path that mostly runs through shaded terrain. The main entrance is near the parish church of Postal. From there, the path extends north towards Hotel Förstlerhof and south to the valley station of the Verano cable car. Access and exit points are available along the route. The trail features various fitness stations with instructions for different exercises.

Medium: Knottnkino
At the open-air cinema “Knottnkino” in Verano, a different “movie” can be seen at any time of day, which you can enjoy in the open-air cinema seats. The stunning panoramic view stretches over the Val d'Adige and the surrounding mountains, from the Dolomites to the Ötztal Alps, and from the Texel Group to the Brenta Group in the south. This family-friendly tour features a variety of trail surfaces, a charming stop at Leadner Alm, and a picnic spot at Weiher Bruggen. Starting from the car park in Avelengo village, follow trail no. 16 (initially a paved road, then a forest track) towards Weiher Bruggen. From there, trail no. 11 branches off towards Weberhof. Shortly after the farmstead, trail no. 14 leads through the forest up to the Knottnkino. The return follows trail no. 14 back to Weberhof, then left onto trails no. 12 and 12A back to Avelengo village.

Difficult: Parcines mountain farms
This is a stunning yet demanding four-hour mountain trek to the secluded alpine farmsteads of Vertigen and Tabland. Tabland and Vertigen are two small hamlets on the steep slopes of the Monte Sole di Parcines. Here, you will find the oldest and partly historic mountain farms of the municipality of Parcines, cultivated since the High Middle Ages. The farms are separated from the village by about a thousand metres in altitude. The mountain hamlet of Tabland (1,243 m) consists of some of the oldest farms in Parcines: Egger, Brunner, Oberlechen (1,350 m), Raweiner and Prünster (1,196 m). From Prünsterhof, which also operates as an inn, there is a magnificent view of the remaining farms: Steiner (1,442 m), Fletscher (1,290 m), Rammwald and Dursterhof (1,057 m). Route From the bus stop area in Parcines, follow markers 7A and 7 to the Hof Niederhaus (932 m). Continue steeply uphill through forests and meadows to the Oberhaus farm (1,163 m), a former spa retreat. Leaving trail no. 7 to the left, follow the steep forest path no. 26 A to the abandoned Ganderhof (1,198 m) and continue to the Greiterhof (1,357 m). Following the access road (marked 26) westward, the trail continues to Eggerhof, the easternmost farm in Tabland. From there, it descends slightly to Prünsterhof (inn). From Prünsterhof, trail no. 26 leads downhill towards Cascata di Parcines / Gasthaus Cascata (bus stop 265). We will be happy to organise transport back to our hotel afterwards. Option 1: Return to Parcines by bus 265 (saving approximately 40 minutes). Option 2: Walk back to Parcines from the waterfall trail no. 23 and then trail no. 1 towards Winklerhof. From there, head westwards across the suspension bridge on trail no. 39, then continue along the Monte Sole trail back to the starting point at the bus stop area in Parcines.

From Marlengo to Bolzano
The tour starts at the church square in Marlengo.
Follow the main road towards Lana. At the traffic light, turn into Kellereistraße, and once you reach the new winery Merano Burggräfler, take Lebenbergerstraße. After a few hundred metres, turn left onto the field path leading to Gampenstraße. Continue towards Cermes and turn left just before the church, heading onto the cycle path through the apple orchards.
The route takes you through a scenic mix of cultural and natural landscapes, mostly on paved roads, all the way to Sigmundskron, just before Bolzano. Here, you’ll find a junction: ride 2 km directly into Bolzano or continue towards Appiano and Caldaro.

Aschbach tour
Starting point: the bridge in Tel. It’s just a 10-minute ride from the hotel, passing Marlengo train station and heading towards Foresta through apple orchards, arriving to Tel. At the bridge, follow the road towards Aschbach, passing Gasthaus Unterobereben until you reach the Aschbach cable car mountain station. At the information point, turn left onto forest path no. 27A until you reach the junction with the Stuanbruch Trail, then head towards Mahlbach and Mohlboch Trail. Follow the road left towards Quadrat, passing Gasthaus Brünnl and Gasthaus Niederhof, before returning to the starting point in Tel. Alternative: Stuanbruch Trail (S3) on the descent

Val Passiria cycle route
This scenic route begins just outside Merano, where you join the cycle path leading into the Val Passiria. Passing through Rifiano and Saltusio (a perfect spot for a break at the Apfelhotel), the route continues through San Martino towards the Passeier Museum and the fishing pond St. Leonardo. The Passeier Museum – Andreas Hofer features the "Heroes & Hofer" exhibition on the ground floor, an ethnographic section on the first floor, and a traditional farmstead in the open-air area. A great place for a stop before heading back to Merano - either by bike or by bus.

Adige cycle route
This tour starts with a scenic train ride on the Val Venosta railway, reaching Lasa in around 50 minutes. Please note that bike transport on the train is sometimes limited - check with the reception beforehand.
From Lasa, the cycle route towards Merano winds through charming villages in Val Venosta, along the Adige River, and through protected wetlands. The landscape is diverse and ever-changing, making this ride particularly fascinating. After a thrilling descent from Tel to Lagundo (right next to the public swimming pool), turn right onto the wooden bridge leading to the famous brewery Forst in Foresta. Here, cross the main road and turn onto Nörderstraße, which leads west directly into Marlengo’s village centre.

From Marlengo to Caldaro
A ride into the southern corner of South Tyrol. The tour starts at the church square in Marlengo. Follow the main road towards Lana, then take Kellereistraße at the traffic light, turning onto Lebenbergerstraße opposite the new winery Merano Burggräfler. After a few hundred metres, turn left onto the field path leading to Gampenstraße. Continue towards Cermes and turn left just before the church, heading onto the cycle path through the apple orchards. This route leads through cultural and natural landscapes, mostly on paved roads, until reaching Sigmundskron, just before Bolzano. Here, the Überetsch cycle path begins, gradually ascending towards Frangarto and Cornaiano, reaching San Michele/Appiano. Continue towards Kreuzweg, where the route splits: one path leads towards Lago di Caldaro, the other towards Caldaro village. To reach the lake, follow the signs for the cycle route to Ora. From Marlengo, this route has an elevation gain of around 200 metres (with a descent of approximately 75 metres before Sigmundskron) and a total length of about 42 km.
